Florian Clemente

I am a self-taught artist from Munich with a scientific background in Evolutionary Biology.

Painting allows me to express feelings and emotions that stay hidden in science. My goal is to reach a quality and depth in my work that is able to transmit sentiment to the viewer. I attempt this, for example, by capturing an impression of a landscape or developing the character of a person in a portrait. Experimenting with different styles and techniques allows me to explore new ideas, but in general I feel drawn to working out the essential of a picture, while leaving other parts vague and free for interpretation.
