Debbie Wijskamp

My name is Debbie Wijskamp, and I am a designer and artist.
I studied Product Design at the University of the Arts in Arnhem, the Netherlands.
After my graduation in 2009 I have been operating my design practice. I design and produce my own collection of handmade interior products and other objects. Besides this I collaborate with and design for companies and brands.
In 2016 I moved to the inspiring neighbourhood Fashion & Design Quarter "Het Modekwartier" in Arnhem, where I opened a new studio and a gallery/shop. I run workshop and courses from my workspace, and I give guest lectures at art universities. My work can be found in various collections all over the world.

I get inspired by everyday objects and materials that we are surrounded by and I push the boundaries of materials to create new possibilities for objects like furniture and interior products. Much of my work is made from 'upcycled' materials. I have special interest in working with old paper.

My goal is to inspire and to share my love for the wonderful possibilities and treasures of paper pulp.
