Crispian Anyster

Hello

I am Crispian Charles Anyster. I was born into a family of music in 1982.

My father is a multi-instrumentalist of a few instruments and was a music lecturer in Cape Town South Africa and my mother a school music teacher who taught Piano, Recorder and singing. They both also have been in charge of the music in the church which I grew up in since the church was erected in the early 80's.

My father and mother for most of my junior years taught me music from the word go. I learnt Violin and Piano as my main instruments. I took part in many Eisteddfod and music programs in and around Cape Town in the 90's. I then studied violin at University of Cape Town with ex Principal violinist Prof Jurgen Schwietering of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra in 2001 - 2002 to be a member of the Cape Philharmonic Orchestra.

I also play a few instruments. To name a few, Violin, Electric Guitar, Bass Guitar & Piano.

I have a vast listening taste of music spanning from classical music to some of the most commercial genres of today such as Jazz, Rock, Metal, Psychedelic Rock, Pop Rock, World Music, etc.

I write some songs and put lyrics to them or write songs that only have instrumental appearances.

I have grade 5 music theory via Trinity College London which I recently completed in 2021 and advancing to a licentiate in Composition after the Grade 8 music theory exam
