Realistische illustratie van vogels met fantasie-elementen

I enjoyed hearing about the artist’s story and philosophy throughout the course . I was hoping for more about the techniques with hatching/cross hatching etc. I wanted to hear how he chooses which annd how he does feathers and creates the effects of volume/dimension. The chapter on getting the paper sized and edges could be done away with .the filming needed to be much closer when it came to the final project. But I definitely learned some tips

I wanted to learn more about how the artist uses the pen and how he approaches rendering feathers and such in ink. There was a very brief overview of basic techniques used, "I hatch here, cross hatch here". I thought I could at least see in the inking video how the pen was used , but most of the process was skipped . The angles on the inking video made it hard to see what was going on. Most of the actual inking was skipped. It is lacking because inking was my main reason for buying this course.

Disappointing because very slow in showing the contours being inked but then super fast for the feathers which is actuelly the interesting part with the hatching.
Why a dead impaled bird as asubject?!

Great tips for creating art and handling the emotional side of it. His honesty is refreshing.

This is a different course in the sense that he talks about his struggles and inner thoughts openly. It is refreshing. He also shows every technique he will do before he does it. However, the project he is working on takes many many hours, and the course is only one hour thirty-five minutes. That being said, the techniques are taught. If you enjoy fine liner illustrations and artists inner thoughts you will really enjoy this course. I look forward to more from him.

The course with Ricardo Ales is exactly what I was looking for. Ricardo communicates his Knowledge and experience in a gentle and relaxed manner, and I feel very much encouraged to continue with my drawing adventure. I hope there will be more courses with Ricardo in the near future!!!
