I enjoyed this course and got new inspiration for book and magazine design.

I feel this course its great for inspiration, more than getting deep into the magazine industry.
Sometimes the insights feel inapplicable to a budget tight industry and little companies.
If you are looking for inspiration, I would totally recommend this course.

A compelling blend of creative inspiration and practical editorial design strategies, though at times the depth feels slightly overextended.

The whole course feels like an ad for Slanted and other Mr. Harmsen's projects. Some of the thoughts are quite interesting but he overintelectualizes everything to the point when the result is completely random. He shows what but hardly ever explains why — and when he does, the idea seems banal. Experimentation is not an answer to everything, let alone when the experiment is done only for the sake of it without any deeper meaning (which Mr. Harmsen seems to add ex-post).

I didnt feel like I learnt anything new... I kinda felt like I wasted all this time to actually go through everything... And the subtitles aren't good too...

Its quite interiesting and fastpaced, It felt more like a chat than something really dense and instructional. Kinda wish that the subtitles was more acurrate, rigth now it seems machine translated so lots of information is lost.
