I really loved this course. I am not an illustrator, nor do I work in photoshop or do any digital work. Still, the information on color palettes and techniques was enough to be well worth the price of the course. I will be incorporating what I learned into by daily sketchbook habit. I love Juan's work and his process. He gave clear instructions and plenty of encouragement. I would be happy to take another course from Juan.
Algo básico, pero inspirador.
This is a wonderful course! I love Juan's loose playful style. I was inspired when watching the instructor create his wonderful images from mixed media and abstract stains. Lessons are clear and well organized. The info about story boarding and creating digital collages as well as how to connect with publishers is very helpful. I highly recommend this course. As indicated in the info video, you will need a working knowledge of Photoshop to understand Juan's digital collage process.
Me gustó mucho su forma de ilustrar
Great course for those looking for guidance and a starting point on how to use mixed media, water and oil based tools, without making a cluttered mess. If you're already familiar with incorporating watercolor and oil pastels then maybe there isn't anything new here, but I did enjoy seeing how he storyboards his ideas and choose color palettes.
An inspiring class, however I wish that the techniques used had been more in depth described, especially the last part about moving to digital. Overall a good class, but I did not learn as much as I have in other classes here.
I really enjoyed the videos breaking down Juan's methods.
However, the three final projects were only showing a few pieces being added to a Photoshop page then "here's three finished projects you could make." I wanted to see him create those three pieces as some of the techniques used in them weren't described in the videos before that, and I was interested in how he conceptually brought the pieces together to create the final images.
3 out of 5 for me.
