Arkan A Ahmed

I am Arkan A Ahmed, a graphic designer based in Erbil, Kurdistan Region. Presently, I am employed as a UX/UI Designer with a local company operating in the telecommunications industry.

My journey into digital design began with a fascination for remaking logos of local TV channels. It all started when one of my brothers had a laptop with a powerful image editing tool installed on, which happened to be Photoshop 7.0 At the time, Photoshop back then was known as "the woman holding a magnifier." After that soon I discovered a 3D design tool and began experimenting with it, following tutorials to recreate various objects. The first 3D model I crafted was a pillow, which I proudly presented to my family, illustrating that games and animations relied on such software to develop and design their outcome. However, I encountered a language barrier that limited my resources for learning and growth.

My progress in the design field was temporarily stalled until I was accepted into Information Technology department at College of Science, Salahaddin University. Recognizing the importance of enhancing my English proficiency, I embarked language learning journey. As I dived deeper into my studies and moved to my 2nd stage, The commencement of the COVID-19 pandemic prompted a reevaluation of my skillset, compelling me to embark on a journey of self-improvement.. This led me to explore graphic design theory, drawing, and eventually, front-end development. It was during this period that I discovered my passion for design and transitioned into the field of UX/UI design, ultimately landing a job after two years of self-discovery.

One year into my current role, I recognized the need to keep pace with industry advancements and, in response, I began taking on freelance projects. These projects allowed me to assist startups in achieving a compelling visual and emotional identity. My love for helping individuals in realizing their aspirations, particularly through the medium of design, has remained a constant in my life. Design has evolved to become an integral part of my daily existence, propelling me to persistently study and learn.
