I was born in a Naval Hospital in the Northeast United States. At a very early age, I took an interest in art. My first inspiration came from cartoons, Star Wars, and D&D books my babysitters would use to entertain me. Over the years, I consumed anything art-related, using every free minute to draw.
After graduating high school, I worked through college, painting murals and doing graphic design for a local paper. I attended Paier College of Art and received a BFA in illustration/fine arts in 2000. While in college, I also began showing in galleries in New York and Connecticut and continue to do so. I have been a fixture in the Connecticut art scene since graduating from Paier, organizing art shows, managing galleries, and showing my work. I have also shown and sold his work internationally.
My style is considered to be Pop-Surrealism. My work has been described as "whimsical with a bite." I have been called "prolific, " partly because the characters I create pop out of my imagination, and I am compelled to give them life." I mostly work with mixed media or oils for my 2d work. Contemporary artists Gris Grimly, Alex Pardee, H. R. Giger, and Greg Simkins heavily influenced my drawings and paintings. In recent years I have been exploring sculpture. Vinyl toys, action figures, and artists such as Hans Bellmer, Joseph Cornell, and Fred Stuhr have influenced my sculptures.
I currently share a studio with my wife in Connecticut. I am working on perfecting his sculpting techniques and continuing to create imaginative and curious characters.
