Russian Gothic Story

In this case, it is a "Gothic novel"; broadly speaking, it tells a fictional story, with hints of psychological thriller and suspense, but entirely grounded in historical facts, more specifically, in January 1917, in a nearly destroyed mansion.

For my notes I always use a notebook (I love choosing it, I take my time to select and personalise it. It is like a ritual).
I like it because it is lighter than a computer, I can always take it anywhere, and although I can correct or cross things out, I can always see what I have discarded afterwards, and sometimes that is magical.
Of course, a suitable fountain pen (and Tobbie)
Books!! (because they are always necessary for me when writing; I feel that turning to fragments that inspire me or to notes I have left in them helps me many times not to stall).
And of course, a computer to transfer everything and edit better. I like Google Drive, because it is very simple, intuitive, free, and you never lose anything (it saves automatically).

I have to say that the approach has been very unexpected, but also very inspiring!!
(sometimes I have even cried hahaha)
There are so many perspectives, and such a high level of knowledge on the subject..
All the lessons are very helpful, and they help to chart a clear path to follow in order to reach a good level; without a doubt, I have been able to make great progress on my journey.

The truth is that the idea for the novel was born several years ago. I am a little ashamed to say the exact date, the truth is that it has been a very long road.. and in fact, I still have some way to go hahaha
But I feel very satisfied with the progress I have been able to make. The overall structure has not changed that much (since the first draft I knew it was a great story. I don’t know, maybe it’s because I truly feel a lot of love for it. but it’s true), but I have added characters I did not expect (some are completely new, and others that were in the background have suddenly gained enormous relevance), the subplots have changed (but above all their usefulness and importance within the main plot have changed), and of course, the scope of my research has increased (since I rely on real historical facts, that is something I care about deeply)
The ending was what cost me the most. More than 37 solutions have passed through my notebook.. and finally I have been able to achieve a combination of pace, perceptions, visible information, tension, verisimilitude, and atmosphere that is quite functional.
As I said; it has been a hard climb, and seeing the summit is still far away, but having been able to reach a solid structure on which to work on the chapters is very rewarding.
