How succesful are my cats begging for cat treats?

For the Drawing for Dataviz course by Stefanie Posavec, I decided to record how often my cats Buddy and Bikkel beg for cat treats (candy for cats). Moreover, how succesful they were and with which human (my partner DJ or myself).
I stuck a piece of paper on the cupboard holding the treats and kept track of date, time , cat , human, result (candy given or not).

After 10 days I had 37 records. To analyse I started with a scatter plot (date vs. time). Each data point I encoded as follows:
- colour for the human: orange for DJ or blue for myself
- shape for cat: circle for Bikkel, square for Buddy, triangle for both (the initiative came from the human 😸)
- filling of the shape: filled for succesful; empty for no candy given

Bases on this scatter plot i experimented with various visuals,
including
- a chart counting the number of begging attempts per day. Each data point stacked on the other. Shaped like a tile with 4 compartments to indicate cat, result, human, daytime/night time
One variation with symbols and another with colours

- An abstract data artwork. It shows a cat treat with sun rays. A ray depicts the number of begging attempts by a cat (color of the ray) on a particular day. The more attempts the longer the ray. Small dashes indicate the result (green is success). The location of the ray indicates time of day (background pale blue sky for daytime resp dark blue for night time)
