I learned a lot from this course with Adolfo Serra, especially as it relates to trying new techniques and ways of presenting objects. The exercises helped me break free of a tendency to be over-cautious in making work.

For my final project, I decided to explore animals that live in my ecosystem in the northern part of Manhattan in New York City - the Red-tailed Hawk, coyotes, and squirrels. While the squirrels and hawks are common, the coyotes sometimes migrate into the city. I found all these animals to have fascinating features, and they all have distinctive and expressive tails!

I enjoy using ink along with watercolors, especially in an expressive gestural way. I found myself much closer than ever before to developing my personal style. I look forward to applying these techniques in future work.
