Monisola Omotoso

I'm Monisola Omotoso, Moni to my friends. In my 30+ years working in fashion design and pattern cutting, I'm still enthusiastic about the subjects. I've designed and pattern cut my own labels and accessories range which were sold throughout London, Europe and Japan. I've freelanced as a flat pattern cutter and draper for fashion companies such as Birdsong London and Alexander McQueen.

In 2012, I qualified with a PGCE and have since taught at various institutions, including the Royal College of Art, Central Saint Martins, Morley College, Liverpool John Moores and the London College of Fashion. 
I'm passionate about education and use my lecturing skills and extensive pattern cutting knowledge effectively in my company. Having developed a range of learning resources, the Cut & Spread™ pattern making kits, and produced mini, speedy educational videos, Pattern Cutting Deconstructed is recognised by my Instagram followers as the go-to platform for fashion creatives who want to learn pattern cutting skills in an accessible fun way. I'm renowned for my step-by-step teaching approach and ability to make confusing calculations deceptively simple. I also have a keen eye for the finer details that can make or break the look of a student’s designs.
