Aycan Basoglu

I am a fashion designer living in Istanbul. I always dreamt of studying fine arts but somehow I studied first sociology -which I don’t regret at all - and then fashion design - that I chose to realize concrete things. I also teach at a fashion school here and I translate novels from English and French to Turkish, because I love books and words as well as art and drawing. I didn’t have specific classes for drawing besides studying fashion design, but I love practicing and improve my self in that area and that’s why I am here basically. I couldn’t think of anything else than spending time with things I love in these sad times of isolation. And finally, my favorite painters are Horst Janssen and Egon Shiele and I think that’s the fragility and the imperfections that dazzle me most in their works.
