Agata Smok

Hi there! I’m Agata Smok and I’m a communication designer based in Kortrijk (Belgium) where I work on international assignments in English (most of the time), Dutch (a lot), Polish (a bit) and French (little bit).

Since 2012 I’ve been visually translating complex and technical content to make it understandable to variety of end-users. Which in practice means that I take a 500-pages research and try to boil it down to something I could talk about with my neighbors.

In addition my designs help business owners define their products and brands through relaxed and fresh, elegant yet free graphic design.

Since 2015 I’ve been working with Th!nk E on dissemination of European Commission projects like Smart Cities Marketplace, City-Zen and the Horizon 2020 project STORY. I attract attention to Energy Communities through the Horizon2020 project DECIDE, European Commission initiative Clean energy for European islands, or a Flemish VLAIO project ROLECS.

Next to that I create a variety of hands-on prints, ceramics, textile art and crafts, I design and decorate interiors and I make murals too. I’m always trying to do my best, produce minimum waste, be fair, eco-friendly and support local makers, small chains as well as circular solutions. I love to work with people who care about sustainability. My business is plastic-free to the max and my products are kind, loving and well-made. I often use gentle colours and poetic illustrations.
