Trudi Dowling

Hello, my name is Trudi. I am from South Africa, living in the UK now. I have a background in graphic design and have been dipping my toes in illustration and surface design. I am inspired by different expressive movements in history, moods, aesthetics, music, myths, fairy tales, nature, textures, fabric and working with traditional media - in a nutshell anything that draws my attention / that I personally find beautiful / interesting / otherworldly - I like to explore the beauty in unknown / 'dark' places. I am particularly inspired by the victorian, art nouveau, baroque, pre raphaelites and gothic movements. I have an interest in fashion, portraiture and botanical / natural illustration.
