Ozlem Yildiz Teke

Hi, My name is Ozlem. I'm an amigurumi designer based in Istanbul. Although I've been crocheting since I was a kid, I started designing amigurumi in 2017. Two of my patterns were published in two different books by Meteoor Books. I try to avoid the traditional gender-based stereotypes in my designs and to incorporate issues like sustainability and feminism into my designs. That's why, my amigurumi designs have backstories such as a male polar bear wearing a pink dress or a blue-skinned female monster.

Ringbeller is a word which means “a really splendid dream, the kind that makes you wake up smiling and happy”. It was made up by Roald Dahl. I chose this name since I wanted to do something that would make kids happy and since Roald Dahl was one of my favourite authors.
