Thais Mota Eriksson

My name is Thais Mota Eriksson, I am a Brazilian freelance illustrator currently living in Stockholm, Sweden. I work from my teeny-tiny desk, surrounded by plants and paints, and always a cup of warm coffee close to me. I mostly work with watercolors, but I also love experimenting with other mediums - for example, I do paint on canvas every once in a while, creating work both from life and from imagination. I work across a variety of mediums, including but not limited to acrylic, mixed media, ink, free sketches, collage, photography, and good old pencil-to-paper drawing.

Before going completely into art, I studied Fashion design at a university in Brazil. Sometime after this, I decided to start a new life in Sweden, worked in a Swedish fashion company for some years, and started to draw and paint independently. In 2018 I began working with watercolor and acrylic painting and started to sell for some friends both in Sweden and around the world.
Since 2018 I have been painting more frequently in watercolor, over a variety of subjects, but mostly for kids. I do sell only original creations and there is never a copy. Everything that I make is unique. In my illustration work, I create a ludic and imaginary world across a variety of mediums, an interest fuelled by fantasy, poetry, and delicacy.
All this creativity had a real calming effect on me. I found myself getting so lost in the art that I forgot about my troubles and just enjoyed being in the moment.
