Ramalakshmi Pasumarthy – Crochet and Knitwear designer.
As a youngster, I had seen my mother knitting with her group of friends. With access to YouTube, and online content, I self-taught myself how to crochet and knit basic stitches. I was intrigued by the possibility of combining different stitches to create designs using innumerable permutations and combinations of stitches, which led me to persue designing.
I released my first doily design, Leilani – A Heavenly Flower in May 2018. It was posted as the hottest pattern of the day on 22nd May 2018 by CGOA on their official Facebook page. This gave me the confidence to pursue designing and as of today I have 30 plus Crochet and Knitwear designs to my credit, published independently.

I am also a published designer. Find my designs published in Handy Hands – Tatting & Crochet Calendar 2021- 2 designs – Modern Granny Square and Brenna doily. For the 2022 calendar, my contribution is the Floating Flower Coaster pattern.
My other hobbies include, Needle Tatting, Macrame, Embroidery and Sewing.
