Pixel Noise Swap

An animated pixelation experiment built with Canvas Sketch JS, inspired by the psychedelic pop-art style of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, where noise swaps portions of the image at timed intervals to create a shifting, glitch-like effect.

This piece explores how simple pixel manipulation can turn a static portrait into something alive and unpredictable. Using Canvas Sketch, a JavaScript creative coding framework, I rendered an image as a grid of pixelated blocks, then introduced timed "noise" that swaps random regions with a second image - echoing the bold, psychedelic pop-art style of The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It's a small reminder that code can be as expressive as any brush, and that constraints - a handful of pixels, a loop, a bit of randomness - often spark the most interesting visual ideas.
