Introduction
I recreated Max's Future Cinema 3D animation with the primary goal of improving my skills in Blender. Rather than focusing on ideation, I concentrated on 3D modeling to deepen my understanding of the software. I also aimed to maintain consistency in the 3D model to directly compare Blender’s performance and workflow with 3ds Max, which Max originally used.
Supplies
I used a MacBook M1 Pro, Blender, and Adobe After Effects
Modeling the scene in Blender
Every step of the modeling process can be translated from 3ds Max to Blender. Personally, I found Blender easier to use—though that may be because I’ve been learning and practicing with it for some time now.

Editing the Animation: Physics in Blender
Max used TyFlow in 3ds Max, and while his explanation of the process was incredibly clear, I found Blender’s physics simulation to be more straightforward and easier to work with.

Final edits and render export
Setting up the sun in Blender was a bit trickier, as it needs to be linked to the sky texture, which works differently compared to 3ds Max with Corona. After watching a few YouTube tutorials, I was able to adjust it and get the correct sun position.
