Introduction
I created Renaissance as a conceptual makeup brand that merges the artistic depth of the Renaissance period with contemporary beauty culture. The project allowed me to explore how historical art movements can inform modern brand identity, particularly in an industry centered on self-expression and transformation. My vision was to develop a brand that feels simultaneously timeless and innovative, where makeup becomes a medium of personal artistry rather than just cosmetic enhancement. Renaissance celebrates individuality through a sophisticated visual language that invites everyone to create their own masterpiece.

Step 1: Position Research
Step 1: Position Research
My journey began with comprehensive positioning research for Renaissance, my mock makeup brand concept. I created a detailed questionnaire to define the brand's visual identity, exploring what Renaissance would truly represent in the beauty world. This process helped me identify my target market, establish the desired brand vibe, determine which emotions I wanted to evoke, and clarify the core message Renaissance would communicate. Through this research, I discovered that Renaissance would resonate with those seeking artistic self-expression through makeup, connecting historical artistic traditions with contemporary beauty practices.

Step 2: Creation of the Visual Identity
Step 2: Creation of the Visual Identity
Building on my research, I translated my moodboard vision into tangible brand elements. This critical phase involved personalizing Renaissance by selecting a distinctive color palette that evokes both historical richness and modern appeal. I developed a sophisticated logo that balances elegance with accessibility, chose typography that communicates the brand's artistic heritage, and created preliminary mockups to visualize how these elements would function across various applications. Each design decision was intentionally made to support the emotional connection and messaging established in my positioning research.

Step 3: Design of the Brand Guidelines
Step 3: Design of the Brand Guidelines
The final step involved consolidating all my work into a comprehensive brand guideline presentation. I combined the positioning research and visual identity elements into a cohesive document that clearly demonstrates my entire creative process. The guidelines showcase how Renaissance's visual language supports its positioning, including proper usage rules for the logo, typography applications, and color implementations. This presentation serves as both documentation of my development journey and a practical guide for consistent brand application across all potential touchpoints.
