Between November 18 and December 2, 2023, I took a trip with my mother to Buenos Aires, Argentina, and Santiago, Chile, spending a week in each city.
I started taking the course before the trip, and it was exciting as it made me realize that there are different ways of taking a trip. The course opened up my vision to experience more of each place, meet people, be calmer, and contemplate more of the landscapes and culture of the cities.
I used two Moleskine-style notebooks made of recycled paper, with 30 sheets each. My materials were elementary: felt-tip pens in 5 different colors, paper cut-outs, leaflets, pamphlets, postcards, small objects, stickers, and pictures, and I used glue tape to make it easier. I took a small case and two plastic zippers to store the materials I collected over the day. The diaries were always written at the end of the day, for about half an hour.
Before the trip, I prepared the first pages for both notebooks:
Apliquei algumas técnicas do curso.

I applied some techniques from the course. I made a calendar with printouts of each day on small colored papers and lists to remind me to eat typical dishes or visit certain places.
Vou tentar complementar.

I liked the part about the five senses. I couldn't identify all of them - and I made a mistake: I repeated two senses that were practically the same: "I heard" and "I listened."... :D But it doesn't matter: I was happy with the result, and it's one of the parts of the notebook I like the most because the images, sounds, smells, and tastes come back to me every time I read it and make me want to go back! A few "holes" left on the page weren't filled in. I'll try to fill them in.

I found the idea of the collection of treasures and the little tea envelopes fascinating. I mixed the two ideas and kept 4 "treasures" from Buenos Aires in the envelopes, bringing back good memories of stories I've lived in the city.

In my Santiago notebook, I ventured into a pen sketch of the view from the observation deck of the Costanera Center, the tallest building in Latin America. I had the privilege of watching the sunset from this spot on a clear day.

I also kept as a souvenir a flower that served as a garnish for the juices that my mother, I and two friends we met on the trip drank.
