Hi everybody. I am an almost retired ex-lawyer, humanitarian worker and translator. I grew up in the French part of Canada (Quebec) but have been living in Switzerland for the past 25 years. I started painting and drawing in my teens, then influenced by abstract art, pop art, impressionism, cubism. I have always painted and drawn, whenever I found a minute.

It is only recently after joining art classes (in the past ten years) that I decided to develop skills in drawing and painting realistic subjects. The human body is what I prefer. Portraits, nude, etc. Still, I have this abstract background which is still very strong and a tendency to go my own way, so I blend realism with abstraction. I find very important to develop skills, to work hard, to be serious in what one does. I have great difficulty in understanding contemporary art. The older I get, the more I am indulging in the great masters, Rembrandt, etc.

My influences are very diverse, from Matisse to Georgia O'Keefe, to Giacometti and Brancusi and Henry Moore, Monet, Van Gogh, Mondrian, Louis Sutter, Louise Bourgeois, Gustave Courbet. I have a passion for cave art, made by our ancestors, for it's simplicity.
I often start from a photography normally one that I took myself or sometines that I found on the Internet.
