Marina Schoen

I am an Italian native, who lives in the US and was the former CEO of a French Lycée in New Orleans. I lived all my life admiring and enjoying art (even married a sculptor!) but never picked up a brush. I recently discovered painting, meaning..... for me as the 'artist'.... and almost by chance, and I want to learn more. I have never been good at drawing and that is why I shied away from it all my life. But as I applied myself in the last few months, I learned never to say never. I started painting very simple flowers, and I definitely made progress (while my work remains that of a total beginner!). But I am excited.....! I should add that I only paint florals and plants because I love nature and I find the observation of flowers and plants to be an amazing source of beauty, inspiration and calm. And it is meditative, as you say, Lupin. So true! So, here I am, being vulnerable about my (lack of) skills but wanting to learn. I used a picture of myself with lit candles to celebrate the beginning of this journey with you!
