Mary White

I'm a soon to be retired registered nurse. As a teenager I drew alot, but since graduating high school and facing REALITY. I quickly learned that I did not want to become a 'starving artist.' So after flipping burgers for a few years I joined US military. During my military service I dreamed of becoming an artist for Disney pictures. But was always disappointed in my recreations of anything Disney. In my 23 years of service I met fellow artist and always thought that their drawings/painting were ever so much better than anything I had ever done. Reality hit me in the face again after serving 10yrs in the US Navy. There wasn't much need for someone with Anti-Submarine knowledge in the 'real world.' So after struggling for 6 years. Bouncing from one job to another. I decided to reenlist. And after 13 years in the US Army as a medic and then a nurse. I went back to school and obtained my registered nursing degree. I have worked as a nurse for the past 8yrs. I have continued to draw, but not very much as I have felt that my talent is not worth being paid for my work. I dream of becoming a illustrator for books or movies as my third and final career. So I've been purchasing some of Domestika online workshops. This one seems to be my favorite and I've not even really started it yet. I've been told all my life, as I'm sure everyone here has to that "It's never too late to pursue your dream." Here's hoping that's true. And thanks for reading this.
