Carol Pauline Rauss

I am a US-American expat and live in Zurich, Switzerland and in Provence, France. I speak English, German, and just enough French to comfortably get by in France.

I am blessed with an unsurpassably wonderful daughter and granddaughter (*2013)!!!

I am passionate about animals and, like everyone I know, I'm also very concerned about our planet and worldwide human rights, equality, and suffering.

I am privileged to have enjoyed a "higher education" and opportunities to pursue learning throughout my life.

Besides crafting, I love to read (primarily literary novels, crafting books, and science), audiobooks, and cinema. I enjoy spending time with my companion, Peter, and with my friends and family. I also enjoy walking and bicycling. When I was younger, I loved riding, hiking, bicycle tours, and Lindy Hop dancing.

1969: BA degree in Fine Arts (specializing in drawing and printmaking) from the State University of New York in Binghamton (Harpur College).

1983: Lic. phil I. Degree in Clinical Psychology (specializing in Childhood and Adolescent Psychology and Psychopathology).

Aside from drawing, printmaking, and painting, I have worked in various media, my favorites being CERAMICS and GLASS BEADMAKING (lampworking).

Health and age-related issues have recently led me to SPINNING and WEAVING (rigid heddle loom), handcrafts that have fascinated me for decades. It is in this realm that I shall remain--eventually adding a SAORI loom to my life and passions!
