Iris Jacobs was born in the Netherlands, raised in a creatively vibrant family, with a father in the music industry and a mother who is a natural healer. This rich artistic environment nurtured her passion for the arts from an early age. At 18, she moved to Amsterdam, where she studied Cultural & Social Design, a discipline that deepened her understanding of art's impact on society and laid the foundation for her diverse career in theater and film. Jacobs worked in several theatre productions as both a producer, programmer, company manager and cultural designer. Later she became an art director, production designer and visual artist and experimented for a while with her collage art in the from of stop motion animations because of her passion for movement, dance and psycical theatre.

Since moving to Barcelona, Jacobs has expanded her artistic practice to include filmmaking, creating several short films such as Fight Flight Free, A Wicked Women's Circle, Conclave Clandestine, Twin Twisters, and Most Wanted. She is currently working on her first feature films, including A Flight To Paradise, Everything I Didn't Tell You, and A Highly Suspicious Connection. She is also developing A Dinner To Die For, using family constellations to uncover deeper character and story elements. Other projects are: A Social Circle, Superhost, and Three Birds On The Brink Of Exctinction. Beyond filmmaking & theatre, Iris Jacobs continues to create collage art.

Her background in physical theatre, dance, and choreography further enriches her ability to craft visually and emotionally compelling narratives.Inspired by filmmakers and artists such as Jaques Tati, Charlie Chaplin, Billy Wilder, Alfred Hitchcock, Ingmar Bergman, and David Lynch, Jacobs blends humor, suspense, and psychological depth in her work. She also draws on the whimsical worlds of Fellini, the subtle humor of Nordic filmmakers like Roy Andersson and Ruben Östlund, and the emotional authenticity found in Italian comedy.

Her work is characterized by a commitment to creating unique universes that resonate on a deep emotional level. She embraces contemporary techniques and experimental approaches while maintaining a truthful connection to the heart of storytelling. Her productions are marked by their playfulness, innovation, and profound exploration of the human condition.
