Ellie Anne

I am Ellie, and I am from New Zealand, a little green gem in the middle of a bright blue ocean. I make art with the intention to learn, grow and develop my skills. I often draw inspiration from nature, painting representations of flora fauna with bright colour palettes and whimsical details.

My main medium is watercolour although I often add details to my work with paint markers, coloured pencils or ink. Sometimes I will sketch my object first, and add details with a wet on dry approach, and other times I will keep it loose and flowy and allow the paints to mix on the page. This being said, I am still learning so am trying to absorb as much knowledge and as many new skills as I can.

Creating art allows me to escape the pressures of everyday life, and give myself time to do something just for me, because I love it and because it brings me joy. I currently work as a science teacher but intend to work hard to develop my art-making skills, and hope to one day start my own business selling art.
