Emanuela Marchetti

I am Emanuela, Emma for friends, a User Experience Designer by education and I am currently associate professor in Computer Science Education Research at the University of Southern Denmark in Odense, where my research is placed in between arts and sciences as ways to understand the natural world.

I have always loved painting and I took several courses in my younger years about drawing, photography and clay sculpting. However, I lacked the courage to really try out as a professional.

I have recently had the pleasure to do a few commercial works and I just loved and I hope to do it more. I love watercolor for the transparency you can create, I love working in layers and I also find it quite practical, at times I combine markers and watercolor for more contrast. I also work with digital drawing and painting.
I would like to develop my technique, I do a lot of botanical art with a surrealistic twist, I figure drawing, food illustration. I also would like to start working professionally as an editorial illustration, painting botanical, surrealistic and scientific motives, food illustration and explore different themes 😊
