Hello everyone! I’m a visual artist working from the countryside in Romania. I started to draw when I was a child, mostly characters from my favorite cartoons/anime broadcast on TV.
My artwork takes a critical view of personal, social, political, and cultural issues. Often referencing Japanese culture, or artists such as Frank Miller, Frank Frazetta, and Ai Yazawa, my work explores the varying relationships between popular cultures and fine arts. I am concerned in portraying my inner experiences and I try to capture the very essence of beauty in the dark and the macabre.
While I use a variety of materials and processes in each project my methodology is consistent. Although there may not always be material similarities between the different artworks, they are linked by recurring formal concerns and through the subject matter. The subject matter of each artwork determines the materials and the forms of the work.
Materials that I use are watercolors, acrylics, inks, markers, colored pencils, charcoal, etc.
