Thoroughly enjoyed this lesson. Learning the art of freehand cutting has been a long time desire of mine and finally getting it here in a structured and well explained manner is fantastic. I highly recommend this course if you are one who struggle to comprehend the witchcraft of patterning haha.

To be honest, very rare any commercial patterns appeal to me, and the job to cut, to trace the fabric already put me off from sewing clothes. Then I found her on this course. It is a joy to watch her sew in this course. She is using the simplest way of making clothes; no tracing paper, no pins. In this way, I understand the logic of darts and folding of fabric more than following a pattern.

I wish Domestica has more courses on her making pants or shirts etc.

Once you wrap your head around it, free-hand cutting is a time-saver and maybe, even a life-changer. After a couple of attempts (in muslin) the fit is about as close to perfect as I've ever accomplished using traditional pattern drafting methods. If you want to move beyond paper and pencil then this course is for you. Even if you're not interested in a peplum top, the bodice can be extended into a blouse or dress. You can even reduce the additional ease and create a block.

So worth it! I am an experienced seamstress and was intrigued with the video. It simplified SO many things compared to traditional sewing techniques used in the United States. The instructor is clear, practical, and easy to listen to. She gets all the stars from me.
