I am an aspiring mixed media artist who is self-taught. I have a ways to go, but one day, I hope to have a thriving business selling and teaching art. I live in a remote village in the mountains of Vancouver Island BC, Canada. maybe 150 people or less, it used to be a mill and logging community at one point in the '60s '70s '80s, and early '90s, there were over 5000 thousand people here and over 700 students in our local school. In the late 90s, it all came crashing down we turned into a complete ghost town with less than 100 people overnight basically, It was crazy. I've moved away and come back recently with my son, as my parents are still here and will always be here. It's incredibly beautiful, it's incredibly wild. We have wolf packs, bears, Grizzly and Black, Eagles, Hawks, Mountain Lions, and poisonous spiders. Beavers, Otters Sea lions, Birds of all kinds, and the list goes on. I am trying to find a way to connect my art to this land, to the stories, the history, as well as my family history here, and also I want to find a way to connect my spiritual elements with my art, I also love to write, and this course, I hope that it will help me find a foothold, a step closer to that connecting, fingers crossed, I am going to try it and see.
