Jackie Charlton

My introduction.
Throughout my life I have always maintained a keen interest in art, although choosing law as a career.
I have taken great comfort in art. I lose myself in the struggle to create something that pleases me.
I have completed several courses, such as paint effects, interior design and a degree in Applied Art whilst working.
Now retired, I have the time to enjoy learning techniques in art that I have not been able to do so far. For previous courses I have used pencils, pastels, charcoal, oil, acrylic and mixed media.
I realised I needed help with my portraits. I have managed to achieve a likeness when painting or drawing a cats, dogs and horses but now need to spend more time on people; their faces and bodies so I have collected images from magazines and photographs of friends and family that appeal to me.
To study and practice water colour techniques before I use it in my work is very important.
I chose this course by Ale because his style appealed to me, being fresh and modern, although influenced by many artists from history.
