ABSTRACT / RESUMEN
From I love DIY we want to show a way to improve the system of learning and teaching for blind and visually impaired children from 0 years old in a few different fields. Our project is based on tactile books printed in 3D technology not only in Braille. With this type of books, we offer to students and teachers new ways to find knowledge and reinforce tactile feelings to conceive an association more straight and real. We are looking for the way to offer something new and useful improving feeling, shapes and making of something that’s not visible can produce an idea much more real of the object they are learning, touching.
At the beginning of project, we observe that it was not a project under development now, consequently we understand that now is a perfect opportunity to highlight it and find a way to bring this technology to the fields of learning. In this way, ourselves believe that it is appropriate to consider this factor to submit this proposal, seek novelty and to create a reference in this field. We try to work with enthusiasm and with the illusion of those who are involved and immersed in this matter.
Our group have faith in this project of I Love DIY due to it can provide a different focus to education and development of blind and visually impaired children, moreover the print company can provide us with facilities for this task and make much more accessible this resource for families and institutions interested in the improving of these children.
We are talking about tactile books, photography, canvas and endless possibilities but our main field would be the education. With a solid base, we can consolidate use and after could strengthen its use and afterwards implement resources and develop new methods and systems to obtain greater achievement with innumerable applications. Giving the opportunity to these children to touch something real, without fear and without having to imagine what it is reading in Braille.
Touching a butterfly or the wheel of a truck creates a clearer picture than reading its description.
