Here is the final version of "Cellular Ageing" The research topic of Liesbeth Veenhoff.
The animation illustrates how the inner world of a cell works and how it may change with ageing.
Real crowded cell cut in half visualization.
And its representation as a Living city
Every element within this city represents a component within the real cell.
All parts of this molecular world inside the cell communicate and work together for which there are means of communication and transport.
This is for example a motor protein that carries a vesicle.
This resembles a little factory; it is a ribosome that is making a protein.
Hope you enjoy the movie the same way I did while making it!
- Little wink to Groninen University within the city cell representation -

Fabulous animation of the cellular functions and their resemblance to a harmonious functioning city and the life cycle of yeast was brilliant!
