This final project was the result and combo of going for a walk in my own back yard and documenting my favorite things that also inspire me. My husband built my she shed by hand with old school recycled early 1900’s windows. I quickly turned it into a green house-ish type of place and filled it full of all things inspiration and plants. This final project is a few of those scenes. In the process, I discovered a color pallet I LOVE! I wonder if I should add text and script to it? Hmmmm… should I?

An old moleskin journal… seriously, there’s a page dated 2012 😳 Ohuhu markers, so juicy and Ibayam fineliner pens.

I started with 4 boxes to fill in, drawn with pencil. Next, I sketched a scene in each box from photos I took. I sometimes combined a few different photo elements into 1 box even if they weren’t photographed as being next to each other. It felt like mentally rearranging reality which was fun. I kept a limited color palette of 4-5 colors. Then, filled in the block color and finally added detailing with the fine liner as a last step.

I discovered a color palette I loved, will use again, and can’t wait until spring to document even more.
