Pablo Buratti is an illustrator and concept artist specialized in storyboards. He has worked with film directors the likes of Pedro Almodóvar, Álex de la Iglesia, and J.A. Bayona. In this online course, he teaches you how to develop a storyboard as if it were a professional commission.
Study the similarities and differences between drawing for a feature film or for an advertisement, learn to visually interpret a film script, and discover the essential aspects of cinematographic language (framing, camera movements, action, how we see through a lens, and editing).

Wat is het cursusproject?
Using the script for a scene, apply the concepts learned to create a storyboard with no more than 20 panels.
Pablo gives you the necessary director’s instructions to mark the frames, character action, and camera movements. Make sure you stick to the script, but also be aware that the storyboard artist should know how to contribute their own suggestions, so take the opportunity to showcase your ideas!

Pablo Buratti was born in Argentina in 1975. As an illustrator, he has worked in a variety of fields, specializing in the audiovisual sector as a storyboard and concept artist.
"I feel privileged to have been able to combine two of my great passions in my career: drawing, which has been with me since childhood, and cinema, which burst onto the scene some time later and has remained ever since."
He completed his studies in filmmaking and audiovisual production in Argentina, which is where he began his professional career. In 2001, he relocated to Madrid and has been involved in over 20 film projects since then, working alongside filmmakers such as Pedro Almodóvar, Álex de la Iglesia, J.A. Bayona, Daniel Calparsoro, and Manuel G. Pereira, among others.
He also spent almost a year in China co-storyboarding an international production that premiered in 2018.
Aside from film projects, advertising makes up a large part of his work, and he collaborates with production companies and advertising agencies in Europe, Asia, North America, and South America.

Beyond expected! I was looking for storyboard classes, I thought it'd be just drawings, but Pablo covers many aspects of making a movie, and brings a lot of firsthand examples. I could connect what he was teaching with things I had seen already on my own but hadn't fully grasped, and the exercises helped to learn a lot more. It was really fun! And I cannot leave out of this review the fact that he still answers comments and exercises! Definitely recommend for his dedication and passion ♥
