Making a Sectional Vase

I love to make larger-scale pieces because it creates a bigger canvas to show off how the glaze moves across the surface. The tall slender form, matched with the rivulets of the ash glaze reminds me of water running down the sandstone cliffs that I've grown up around in Southern California. The construction of the vase consisted of two thrown cylinders stacked atop each other and then expanded to the shape you see in the photos.
