Earlier this year marked 40 years since the first five cases of what later became known as AIDS was officially reported. My work in this project is documentary portraits of people all living their lives to the full. They all live with HIV and have solid involvement in society and their communities, promoting HIV awareness, education, and prevention. These people break down the stigma associated with HIV, ageing beautifully and provide education on maximising quality of life. They all promote and spread the powerful U = U slogan Undetectable = Untransmittable, meaning when a person living with HIV on effective HIV treatment, and an undetectable viral load, means the risk of HIV being passed on to their sexual partners.
