Problem statement

Aeropress is a manual coffeemaker with a hardcore fanbase. Users go to websites, download apps, and watch videos to get their recipes. Still, these methods do not provide a great experience if users want to modify and keep track of the different variables and parameters in the brewing process. In fact, there are many things to control that sometimes could feel a bit daunting brewing coffee to suit your specific taste.

Solution: AeropressSmart

A recipe app with integrated timers and parameters that users can modify at the beginning of the brewing process, in real-time, or after they just had the first sip of their coffee. Users have no need to keep track of their modifications on a separate post-it note. Their input is retro feedback to the recipe's parameters, so they are saved and ready for the next brew.

AeropressSmart allows users to save brew variations, so they have one for each family member and their friends.

Target users

New Aeropress User: Who doesn’t know much about the brewing process but wants to explore different recipes.

Occasional Aeropress User: Who only wants to follow a recipe to have a good cup of coffee and make minor tweaks to the recipe to suit his taste.

Hardcore User: User who wants to frequently try different recipes, save brew variations, and make extensive modifications to fine-tune the recipe, to suit his sophisticated coffee taste.

As a user, I want to be able to browse recipes and save to favorites the ones I like.

As a user, I want to be able to search and filter recipes so that I can find good matches based on my taste.

As a user, I want to be able to open a recipe and be presented with detailed step-by-step instructions on how to brew my coffee.
