Fabulantes was born as a web magazine publishing weekly literature reviews in 2009. I had the chance to get to know the founding team soon after it was created and I have been working with them ever since.
My role within the team has grown alongside the growth of the magazine: first as a consultant when Fabulantes was devoted to the texts, then as an art and creative director I focused on achieving a fluent collaboration between the writers and an ever growing team of illustrators. I wanted to offer an original lit magazine in a relevant and enjoyable way.
We reached 2015 with a large following base and we wanted to give a very special reward to all those loyal readers. I saw this moment as a very important turning point for Fabulantes. My idea was then to edit a web magazine with our selected content, reviews and illustration.
The goal of this web magazine, launch in January 2016, was not only to consolidate the long-lasting relationship with our existing readers and editors but also to enlarge our audience. And it served its purpose very well: our reading base has grown and our reputation is stronger today.
For me, this magazine, was also a means to come closer to new editing houses from a stronger position to further the growth of our project: Fabulantes will certainly give our readers some surprises during the following years.
