[ENG] Through the traditional stamping technique, I make large format illustrations on rubber sheets to be stamped on any surface (paper, wood, fabric ...). Mostly using dark colors like black, brown or navy blue, and a single ink for each illustration.
It is a complex work process, because of its dimensions, its details, and often allows little margin of error. A challenge that restarts every time a new creation is "born" and that makes it extremely stimulating.
'Man Project' consists of an indefinite series of male portraits - constantly evolving and expanding - most of it inspired by real models, popular characters or friends and acquaintances. The illustrations try to detach the eroticism of the male figure through time, fashions and different social circles, emphasizing the gay collective and expressing the will to feel me proud of my sexuality.
Through this collection, converge the different attractions, influences and masculine inspirations that have been filling my imaginary over time. The technique used to represent the illustrations - the carving and the stamping -, I am interested in exploring it deeply by its combination of processes and the flexibility to work it. The works of Tom of Finland, Bob Mizer, Pierre et Gilles or George Quaintance are the artistic references that have influenced me the most to make the compositions: the representation of man as an icon of (homo)sexual attraction.
