Beneath the Light: A Turtle’s Journey

This illustration is a peaceful dive into the quiet world beneath the sea. Centered around a lone turtle drifting through shimmering blue waters, the piece captures a moment of calm curiosity. Inspired by nature documentaries and my love for serene environments, I wanted to create a composition that feels immersive—like you’re floating there with the turtle, observing life pass slowly around you.

Supplies Used
• iPad
• Procreate (for sketching, inking, coloring, and texturing)
• Standard Procreate brushes (Soft Brush, Watercolor Wash, and custom Texture Brush)
• Stylus (Apple Pencil)
• Color palette inspired by seafoam, moss, and sunlight

I used soft, layered textures and light beams to evoke the stillness of deep waters while filling the scene with marine life—jellyfish, seahorses, schools of fish, and lush sea plants. My goal was to create a narrative without words: a gentle, dreamlike journey through an underwater world.
