Dawn in the Alpine

For my first project using Blender, I created a snowy mountain scene inspired by my surroundings as a Colorado-based designer. I wanted to capture the serene beauty of dawn, with soft drama and a romantic atmosphere. The composition emphasizes asymmetrical harmony, creating a peaceful yet captivating moment in nature.

I used Blender as my primary software for 3D modeling and rendering. For textures and materials, I experimented with snow and reflective glass to bring the scene to life. My focus was on achieving realistic lighting effects, particularly the gentle glow of the sunrise.

This course was awesome! It was my first time in blender, so I know there is still room to grow, but I am really enjoying learning the program! My design process started with exploring mountain shapes and adjusting the landscape for a balanced, asymmetrical composition. I kept the house design minimal with a modern alpine shape, partially visible to add intrigue. The key element was the reflection of the sunrise on the glass, symbolizing the warmth and beauty of the morning light. I encourage others to experiment with lighting and reflections in their projects—it’s an incredible way to evoke emotion and add depth to a scene.
