I painted a porcelain tin a friend gifted me a couple of years ago. It's by far the most beautifully aesthetic thing I own, as I live quite minimalistic. Also, it has different surfaces and an interesting structure.

I used colored pencils of different brands: Polychromos, Luminance and Lightfast as well as oil pastels by Caran D'Ache and Sennelier. I also used the Sennelier Pastel Pad.

I started out with some material studies and some sketches of the golden swan and the pattern to get a feeling for the complicated lighting and an idea how to simplify the complex structure. I made a sketch with polychromos and started to fill in the colors - first the swan, which was completely done with pencil. Next was the tin, which was a oil pastel plane. I carefully filled in the pattern with pencils. last was the background. The fine details at the boarder of the object were done with pencils and the bigger planes with oil pastels. It was fun, I loved the process and the course!
