Album Artwork: RETROGRADE by James Blake

Visual interpretation of 'Retrograde' by James Blake. The concept of ‘moving backwards’ is replicated in the booklet; the text has been reversed and mirrored, printed onto foggy paper that lets you read it from its backside, only slightly less clear, like a memory. The images have a positive and negative side, symbolising the double-sided feeling related to thinking or going back. The overall design is clean, soft and cold to replicate the song’s melancholy and easy start, as the booklet reveals more contrasted graphics to build up along with the music.
