In 2015, I received a commission from the Tarragona City Council's culture department to create a mural about the "French War" on the façade of the Pons d'Icart Institute in Tarragona.
To commemorate the 500th anniversary of his death, as part of the “Education for Peace” project.
It is one of my most challenging projects, given the strict review by the heritage authority, as it is located opposite a modernist church and the Roman wall of Tarragona.
The difficulty of the location in its execution and the responsibility of conveying through a mural all the suffering that Napoleon's troops instilled in giving Asalto Street its name, without showing any violence.
It took just over 18 days of absolute commitment, completed with outdoor-resistant paint to ensure the greatest possible durability. During that time, I interspersed several talks and interviews with some of the high school's classes, creating a cross-cutting project that straddles education, art, and history.
The image of a defeated horse, which shows melancholy, but at the same time hope... because after a time of abandonment, nature works its magic and life sprouts again, suggesting that war always loses.
I hope you like it :)

Despite painting the entire mural alone, I was fortunate to have a film crew throughout the entire process. In addition, my family and friends visited me daily and took pictures of me throughout the mural process.

I used just over 300 liters of mineral paint for facades. It was the best choice because several years later, all the colors are still intact.

The mural is just over 13 meters tall at its highest point, and 80 meters long.
