I am a self-taught amateur photographer with artistic interests (portraiture,nude/figure; dance; landscape, street & architecture). I began as a child, using film-based box and rangefinder cameras. I have since gone digital SLR and now find myself returning to film-based box and range finder photography. I am itching to do some pinhole work. Just acquired a Bronica SQ-M 6x6 system - cant wait to try this:)
My practice of photography has been on and off over the years. I am coming back to it now after nearly a 10 year lapse. Life has been busy, with work and raising teenagers. I feel quite rusty, but ready for new challenges.
I am now emphasizing portrait/human form photography. I have often experience a lot of shyness and self-conscience feelings when photographing people. There is something about having my subject looking back, as I look at them that is unnerving and sometimes intimidating. Exploring this is the focus of my current work.
