Hello, Paulina and classmates.
For my final project, I decided to paint hydrangeas.
I started with a graphite pencil sketch of the stems and leaves. Then, I wet the paper in the areas where I would add the flower petals. After mixing the paints to obtain the right tones of pink, green and brown, I started to add color. The petals were added first, then after those parts dried, I painted the stems and leaves. Once that was dry, I added another layer of a lighter color on the petals for volume, as well as colored pencil on the stems and leaves for details. Besides struggling with composition, I also never know when to stop painting. Finally, I decided to add the pistil as small dots of colored pencil.
Thank you. I've learned a lot in this course.
