The process of creating this digital illustration in Procreate was inspired by a girl from a perfume commercial on television. Her calm and captivating expression immediately caught my attention, and I knew I wanted to use her as the base for this portrait, while adding my own personal touches.
I began by transferring the image into Procreate, where I sketched out the portrait. I focused on capturing her serene expression, aiming to convey a sense of tranquility and strength.
After completing the sketch, I moved on to refining the linework and layering the colors to achieve the softness I was looking for. As I progressed, I decided to integrate a floral element to enhance the overall mood of the piece. The flower not only served as a decorative feature but also as a symbol of the grace and elegance I wanted to evoke in the final illustration.
Working with Procreate’s diverse brushes and textures allowed me to bring depth to the piece, from the details in her skin to the fine petals of the flower. I even incorporated a scanned watercolor texture to give the background a richer, more organic feel.
Finally, I polished the finer details, playing with lighting and contrast to create a harmonious balance between the subject and the flower. This project was a rewarding journey that not only allowed me to practice digital portraiture but also explore new creative ideas inspired by the simplicity and beauty of a moment captured on screen.
